What Is an LSV/NEV?

LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) is a term used in some markets, such as the U.S., to describe a street-legal vehicle category designed for low-speed, on-road use where permitted. LSVs are typically built to meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements and are intended for short trips on public roads with lower posted speed limits, depending on local regulations.

NEV (Neighbourhood Electric Vehicle) generally refers to a battery-electric vehicle designed for short, local trips in neighbourhoods and communities. NEVs are commonly used on roads with lower speed limits, where permitted, and requirements vary by country and region.

A: NEVs and LSVs have a top speed of 25 mph (40 kph).

The maximum loaded weight is 3,000 lbs (1361 kg).

Club Car vehicles go beyond basic safety requirements, meeting not only the U.S. Federal Safety Standard FMVSS 500, but also the more rigorous automotive SAE J2358 Standard. Our cars feature secure seat belt systems and a built-in protective structure for rollover protection, giving you confidence on every ride.

In regions where applicable, Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) may be approved for street use, depending on local regulations.

They may be permitted on certain public roads with lower posted speed limits, subject to local regulations. Always check local, state, and federal laws to confirm where LSVs are approved for use.
