A case study with Pacific Backlot Services
Pacific Backlot Services was established in 1999 as a production services company to support the great people who frequented Vancouver Film Studios, and through the years it has grown considerably. Today, Pacific Backlot Services continues to operate from their fully-secured warehouse located on the Vancouver Film Studios lot, but the Pacific Backlot Services customer base now extends to productions shooting throughout Western Canada. Pacific Backlot offers an extensive list of top-notch production services and equipment rentals to everyone from feature films and photographers to gaming and students at local BC colleges. Pacific Backlot Services is an excellent one-stop shop for location equipment rentals in the Lower Mainland and on the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Pacific Backlot operates out of two warehouses on the Vancouver Film Studios lot and requires a fleet of vehicles to transport equipment from warehouse to warehouse as well as to productions in the nearby studios as they prepare for production days. The equipment can vary in size and weight and the team was looking for a vehicle versatile enough to travel on public roads and powerful enough to move any load. In addition to daily tasks, the goal was to find an electric vehicle to boost sustainability initiatives while maintaining the power needed daily. Given the warehouse set up, a small vehicle was needed to access all areas of the warehouse as well as navigate the cramped studio lots and sets with ease.
Since deploying the Club Car 411 in their fleet, Pacific Backlot has used the vehicle daily and it has quickly become one of the favorite vehicles by the crew. With enough range to last for two full days of work on a single charge, the 411 has tackled jobs big and small.
When Pacific Backlot needed an electric small vehicle that could also drive on public roads, the Club Car 411 answered the call. As a low-speed vehicle compliant with U.S. and Canadian safety standards, the 411 LSV comes with a VIN and, once registered, can be driven on roads posted 35 mph or less. It meets safety standards and comes equipped with safety glass, three-point seatbelts, windshield wipers, and more. This allows the team to use the 411 to go between two warehouse locations on public roads.
The Club Car 411 has quickly become a crew favorite at Pacific Backlot. With an enclosed cab and full LSV designation the highly maneuverable vehicle is able to tackle jobs big and small at the warehouse. The two day range and impressive payload capacity of over 1,000 lbs has allowed the 411 to be seamlessly integrated into the Pacific Backlot fleet.
The Club Car 411 continues to change the way facilities are deploying their fleet. The 411 provides sustainable electric transportation with the ability to replace full size trucks. See how Club Car 411 can improve your operations.
