The Onward LSV is built with safety at the forefront, meeting not only the U.S. Federal Safety Standard FMVSS 500, but also the more rigorous automotive SAE J2358 Standard. The car features 3-point front seatbelts for secure, full-body restraint and 2-point rear seatbelts to protect passengers in the back. Its reinforced frame enhances rollover protection, while the rear back-up camera improves visibility when reversing. Additionally, the vehicle includes an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) to help pedestrians hear the LSV when it’s on the road.
FMVSS 500 requires all LSVs to have a registered VIN number, automotive safety windshield glass, safety belts, turn signals, headlamps, brake lights, horn, mirrors, reflex reflectors, a parking brake and a rear view camera. They also must meet state and local laws which can include windshield wipers and warning beacons.
