What is a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle?

A Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) is a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) designed for short-range travel. In many regions, NEVs are recognized as low-speed vehicles and may be permitted on certain public roads, subject to local regulations.

The CRU not only meets the U.S. Federal Safety Standards (FMVSS 500), but also fully complies with the more stringent automotive SAE J2358 standard with the inclusion of seat belt anchorage requirements and occupant protective structure for rollover protection.

CRU has an onboard charger and is charged using a Club Car-supplied AC cord plugged into a 110V to 120V electrical outlet. No special car charging station or outlet is needed.

Range depends on your battery pack, load, and terrain, and can be as low as 25 or as high as 75 miles.

LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) is a term used in some markets, such as the U.S., to describe a street-legal vehicle category designed for low-speed, on-road use where permitted. LSVs are typically built to meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements and are intended for short trips on public roads with lower posted speed limits, depending on local regulations.

NEV (Neighbourhood Electric Vehicle) generally refers to a battery-electric vehicle designed for short, local trips in neighbourhoods and communities. NEVs are commonly used on roads with lower speed limits, where permitted, and requirements vary by country and region.

A: NEVs and LSVs have a top speed of 25 mph (40 kph).

The maximum loaded weight is 3,000 lbs (1361 kg).

In regions where applicable, Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) may be approved for street use, depending on local regulations.

They may be permitted on certain public roads with lower posted speed limits, subject to local regulations. Always check local, state, and federal laws to confirm where LSVs are approved for use.
