The Onward LSV is built with safety at the forefront, meeting not only the U.S. Federal Safety Standard FMVSS 500, but also the more rigorous automotive SAE J2358 Standard. FMVSS 500 requires all LSVs to have a registered VIN number, automotive safety windshield glass, safety belts, turn signals, headlamps, brake lights, horn, mirrors, reflex reflectors, a parking brake and a rear view camera. They also must meet state and local laws which can include windshield wipers and warning beacons.

In order to meet U.S. Federal Safety Standards (FMVSS 500), all LSVs require a registered VIN number. Once registered, Onward LSVs can be driven legally with a valid driver's license on most roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.
