DUBLIN, Ireland (15th July, 2025) — Zimbali Lakes Resort, South Africa’s newest and most exciting golf destination, has chosen Club Car® to supply a fleet of golf carts to enhance the member and guest experience.
The prestigious resort has recently opened the 18-hole Ernie Els Signature Course, complementing its beach club, sports club and wide variety of luxury homes spanning 300 hectares of land and wetlands 25 miles north of Durban.
Delivered by AFGRI, the official Club Car distributor in South Africa, the 50 hi-spec Tempo golf carts are installed with premium features such as comfort seats and lithium-ion batteries.
The cars are fitted with Visage, the industry-leading fleet management technology which also gives golfers hole-by-hole information and in-car entertainment.
Wayne Krambeck, Senior Vice President at Zimbali Lakes Resort, said: “We took delivery of the new Club Car Tempos in April this year and their performance has been outstanding.
“The lithium-ion batteries have been a game-changer, offering longevity, less wear and tear on the turf and quick charging times leading to faster turnarounds. Coupled with the comfort of the carts, it’s been a huge win for us and our golfers.”
Krambeck added: “Our longstanding relationship and the service quality provided by Club Car and our trusted local dealer, Modern Mowers, gives us complete confidence in their products and is why we continue to choose Club Car.”
Zimbali Lakes Resort joins three other top South African golf venues to choose Club Car as their golf cart supplier.
Ruimsig Country Club, on the outskirts of Johannesburg, switched from a competitor brand, while Arabella Hotel Golf & Spa in the Western Cape and Cotswolds Downs Golf and Country Estate, another venue near Durban, reaffirmed their loyalty to Club Car.
Nicolas Le Glas, Club Car Regional Manager for Middle East and Africa, said: “We are thrilled to help these top South African golf destinations elevate their golf offering with our vehicles.
“There is huge excitement around Zimbali Lakes and it is fantastic to see this stunning course open for play. The fact such a prestigious resort has chosen Club Car speaks volumes.”
The Club Car Tempo golf cart is used by many of the world’s best resorts and courses. The carts deliver outstanding hill-climbing power and acceleration, and have many customisable options including colour, seats, storage, wheels and three programmable drive modes to maximise performance.
