(Dublin, Ireland – October 11, 2022) - For the first time on European soil, The 2023 Ryder Cup captains will be keeping up with the action at golf’s biggest event thanks to Club Car’s innovative Onward® passenger vehicles.
At the ‘Year to Go’ event held at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome last week, European and U.S. team captains Luke Donald and Zach Johnson were given the opportunity to test drive their new high performance four-passenger electric Onward cars, in their distinctive blue and red liveries, to inspect the redesigned course which recently hosted the Italian Open.
“The cars’ high-powered electronic controllers, with improved hill-climbing speed, torque and acceleration, mean they are perfectly suited for the undulating terrain of The 2023 Ryder Cup course,” said Kevin Hart, Sales Director for Golf Business at Club Car, a world-leading manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles.
“These upgraded cars feature best-in-class proprietary suspension and enhanced stability while the integrated power management system, which monitors each car’s battery life, ensures the vehicles are always healthy and ready to drive.”
“This will be the first time that all 20 team cars will be Onward vehicles,” said Marco Natale, Vice President of Club Car in EMEA, who attended the ‘Year to Go’ event, alongside Kevin Hart.
“These cars represent the future of personal transportation on and off the course and embody Club Car’s drive for high quality, safety, comfort and satisfaction,” he added.
The 2023 edition of the biennial match marks Club Car’s 26th year as an Official Supplier of The Ryder Cup.
