Melbourne, Australia, Aug. 19th 2019 – Club Car, a world-leading manufacturer of golf cars and lightweight utility vehicles is again the preferred golf car supplier for the Presidents Cup, one of golf’s premier global events.
Club Car will provide on-course team vehicles, utilities, broadcast vehicles, and patron transportation solutions for the December 9-15 event, which will be held at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
This is the third time that the Presidents Cup will be played at Australia’s highest-ranked golf facility, which also hosted the event in 1998 and 2011 - and the third time Club Car has supplied the vehicles needed to support the Presidents Cup.
“Presidents Cup is more exciting each time it comes to town,” said Kevin Gates, Club Car vice president. “Our commitment back in 1998 was a little over 100 cars; in 2019 the required fleet has grown to more than three times that number.”
In addition to the Presidents Cup returning to Royal Melbourne, Club Car has successfully launched new products in both golf and utility and in 2018 appointed a new authorised distributor for the state InGolf and Utility. The company’s engagement with the Presidents Cup replicates its long-standing association with Ryder Cup, which now also spans decades.
“Over that time, we’ve supplied several thousand cars to some of the most exciting golf events in history. We love playing our part in these moments,” said Gates.
According to Matt Kamienski, Vice President and Executive Director for the Presidents Cup, selecting a golf car supplier for this event wasn’t difficult. “Club Car and the InGolf and Utility team always engage with us early in the process. The product is of a quality befitting the Presidents Cup and our relationship with Club Car is strong.”
“We’ve partnered with Club Car at each of the events we have hosted in Australia and it’s comforting for us to know that the Club Car team is on board each time we come to town.”
The 2019 Presidents Cup will cap a successful year for Club Car in the Melbourne area. In addition to Royal Melbourne, other courses including The National, Sandhurst Club, and Huntingdale have joined or returned to the Club Car family, while existing Club Car facilities including The Dunes and Eagle Ridge are among those that have renewed their relationships.
