ITC finds Chinese LSPTV imports harmed U.S. makers including Club Car, validating claims of unfair trade practices and clearing the way for final penalties.

Club Car Secures Key Victory, Applauds Final Ruling in Federal Trade Case

AUGUSTA, GA — The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a final ruling confirming that Chinese imports of low-speed personal transportation vehicles (LSPTVs) were unfairly traded and caused material harm to U.S. manufacturers — including Club Car.

This decision follows petitions filed in June 2024 by the American Personal Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Coalition, led in part by Club Car. The investigation found that Chinese vehicles were both dumped (sold below fair value) and subsidized by their government, undercutting American-made products.

The ruling means that antidumping and countervailing duties—some exceeding 600%—will now be imposed on these Chinese imports, helping restore fair competition. Certain duties will also apply retroactively to shipments from earlier this year.

_______

Craig Scanlon, President & CEO of Club Car:

“This final determination from the U.S. International Trade Commission is a clear win for fair competition and the thousands of American jobs that power our industry. It allows us to stay focused on what matters most – our customers – and continue delivering the high-quality, reliable vehicles and exceptional experience that have defined Club Car for decades. We are proud to engineer, build, and support our products right here in the U.S., and we appreciate the Commission and its staff for their thorough work in reaching this important decision.”

_______

The trade orders will remain in effect for a minimum of five years and are subject to annual review. Club Car and its coalition partners will continue to monitor for enforcement and compliance to ensure the integrity of this outcome. This result protects American manufacturing and helps ensure that companies like Club Car can continue to compete fairly in a global market.
