Club Car Breaks Ground for New Distribution Center in Columbia County

Augusta, Ga., March 19, 2018 – Club Car®, the global leader in golf and utility vehicles and a brand of Ingersoll Rand®, is breaking ground at a 550,000 square foot location, the future site of its new distribution center in Columbia County.

County officials will join Club Car representatives on March 19 at 11:00 a.m., in turning the first ceremonial shovels of dirt to kick-off the building project, at the site off Appling Harlem Highway,  in Columbia County northwest of interstate I-20.

“Our investment in this new facility signals our commitment to our employees, the community and the customers we serve,” said Mark Wagner, Club Car president. “It allows us to consolidate our parts and materials warehouses, while this modern work environment will provide our employees with an atmosphere that enhances operations and fosters team engagement and productivity.”

Club Car currently leases space for its distribution center at two different locations in Augusta. The consolidation and move to the larger space will help the company combine its operations to better meet the demands of its customers and further focus on the growth of the Club Car brand. The location was chosen because of the long-standing relationship with Columbia County and the flexibility the additional space provides.

“The Development Authority of Columbia County values Club Car’s continued commitment to our community,” said Hugh Hollar, chairman of the development authority of Columbia County. “They have been a significant long time community partner and we relish the fact they are continuing their presence in Columbia County.”

Club Car has maintained multi-purpose operations in Augusta since it was founded in 1958. Today, Club Car designs and manufactures golf cars, commercial utility vehicles and personal –use transportation.  To learn more about Club Car, visit www.clubcar.com
