AUGUSTA, GA (Nov. 24, 2010) — Club Car will receive the European Golf Course Owners Association’s Industry Award at the association’s European Golf Business Conference on Dec. 1 in London. The award is given annually to a company that demonstrates outstanding commitment to course owners in their efforts to grow the game of golf and make their businesses more successful.

"Club Car has a long history of support for European course owners and operators and for the golf industry overall," said Marcel Welling, president EGCOA. "The company’s innovative products and strong customer service make Club Car one of our members’ most valuable resources."

Club Car president and CEO Gary Michel called the award "extremely gratifying."

"These are challenging times for many European course owners and operators, and we want to make sure they know that our products and our people are dedicated to their success," Michel said.

The association’s EGCOA Award will be presented to Seve Ballesteros. Ballesteros retired from professional golf in July 2007 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. As his health allows, Ballesteros has been a steadfast campaigner and fundraiser for brain tumor research and continues to work to introduce golf to young people without sufficient financial means to learn the game.

Award winners are determined by the EGCOA board of directors.
