AUGUSTA, GA (July 2008) – Club Car has established a relationship with Milwaukee-based Briggs & Stratton to power a new series of consumer utility vehicles the manufacturer is introducing this fall.

Club Car’s new XRT950 utility vehicles will give consumers more features for their money, and thanks to Briggs’ VanguardTM engine, more power. The 14HP Vanguard V-Twin Engine will give XRT950 users a smoother, more powerful riding experience than other vehicles in the same class.

“Most vehicles in this class are powered by a single-cylinder engine with approximately 400cc of displacement,” says Mark Kruse, National Account Manager with Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power. “With 480cc, the Vanguard engine on the XRT950 provides a smoother delivery of power due to its v-twin configuration and an additional 20% more displacement. More displacement means more torque, and more torque means users can get more done.”

The 14HP Vanguard features a high speed enrichment carburetor that ensures a proper air-fuel mixture in all conditions. Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engineers worked closely with Club Car to refine the carburetor to work well in the XRT950.

“We view the engine as an “ingredient” to the overall product,” says Kruse. “Part of the customer experience can be enhanced by what the engine can do. We’re committed to helping deliver an overwhelmingly positive experience for Club Car XRT950 owners, dealers and the service network.”
