AUGUSTA, GA (July, 2008) – Club Car reinforces its position as the world’s largest provider of electric vehicles with the introduction of new low speed vehicles. The Carryall “LSV” models, making their debut at the APPA Conference & Exposition, offer users a zero-emission, street-legal, compact alternative to gas-guzzling trucks and automotive style products used in many campus-style settings today.
“Until recently, facility managers were not legally allowed to drive utility vehicles on public streets, which hindered access to many areas of the campus. Described by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as “four-wheeled vehicles with a maximum speed greater than 20 miles per hour, but not greater than 25 miles per hour” which meet federal safety requirements, LSVs are recognized by many states as street legal. Meeting and in some cases exceeding NHTSA standards, Club Car’s Carryall LSVs are ready to meet users’ needs across the nation.

A new AC (Alternating Current) electric drive system on the Carryall LSVs provides smoother direction changes, quieter operation and is optimal for applications that require greater speed range and control. The AC drive system eliminates brushes from the motor, which results in a quieter operating electric vehicle.
In addition, electric vehicles have no loud exhaust system to cause disruptions – a challenge users might encounter when using a traditional internal combustion-type product. With these improvements, the new Carryall LSVs help reduce noise pollution and contribute to a more eco-friendly, peaceful atmosphere.
