AUGUSTA, GA (July 2008) – Club Car received top honors from ATV & SxS Illustrated this month when editors announced that the XRT1550 IntelliTach would receive the magazine’s first ever “UTV of the Year” award.
The XRT1550 IntelliTach was up against vehicles like the Polaris Ranger and the John Deere Gator. Functionality was what won editors over. Publisher and Editor Bob Davis said, “The XRT1550 can hold its own on tough terrain, but none of the others can hold a candle to its work capabilities.”
The honor of “UTV of the Year” comes on the heels of an extensive product review performed by the ATV & SxS Illustrated editorial staff. Testing the vehicle’s abilities to drive through mud bogs, haul materials and prep food plots are just a few of the events editors put the XRT1550 IntelliTach through.
The XRT1550 IntelliTach is a commercial-grade utility vehicle with a variety of exclusive features, including a 6061 aircraft-quality aluminum frame, and built-in IntelliTrak, Club Car’s automatic, on-demand 4WD system.
The vehicle’s built-in attachment system was what clinched the spot for first place with editors. The IntelliTach system is attached to the frame of the vehicle, with arms extending forward beyond the front cowl. These arms connect to the vehicle’s mounting plate, which links the system with one of five attachments: a bucket, pallet fork, push broom, blade and mower with a 60-inch deck.
Each attachment is controlled by an easy-to-use joystick located next to the driver’s seat. When not in use, the mounting plate can be removed and the arms folded back into the grill. “It’s hard to beat those front end hydraulics and attachments,” said Davis.
Davis noted the vehicle’s comfort and safety features as additional reasons Club Car received the award. “It’s got the best legroom, a tilt steering wheel, an aluminum frame and comfortable bucket seats with 13-position driver seat settings.” Users are even surrounded by a four-point certified roll-over protective structure.
This is the second year that XRT1550 IntelliTach has received recognition from ATV & SxS Illustrated, as Club Car was included in the “Editor's Top Pick” feature in 2007.
